Green Affairs Wants Your Enthusiasm and Ideas!

MCV Green Affairs focuses on making MCV campus at VCU and the Richmond community greener through service and education. This student-led organization welcome students, faculty, and staff, from all schools and disciplines, both medical and academic from either campus, as well as Richmond community members to help us pursue our goals of educational outreach, increased recycling access, improved sustainable practices and policies at VCU, and community outreach. 3rd Union Hill Neighborhood Clean-Up May 28th

Green Unity is hosting our 3rd Union Hill Clean-Up

Saturday, May 28, 2011
2pm-4pm
Meet at corner of O St. & N 20th St. (directions)
Bring gloves & water bottle if you have them
Free snacks and beverages provided

Our last clean-up had a turn-out of over 35 neighbors & VCU faculty, staff, and students, and we collected 21 bags of trash, 15 bags of recycling and many large items. Let's see if we can do even better this time!

Free information about VCU sustainability and how to get city curb-side recycling pick-up will be on hand. We will also be selling rain barrels ($55), Green Unity water bottles ($10, 22oz, aluminum, BPA-free), Green Unity t-shirts ($10, 69% recycled Cotton), and reusable ChicoBags ($10, 100% recycled PET) to fundraise for Green Unity in order to continue our community and educational outreach events like this one.
