Neighbors, Faculty, Students and Staff Pitched in at the Union Neighborhood Clean-Up

It was a beautiful day this Saturday, March 5th when 35 people turned out for the 2nd Union Hill Neighborhood Clean-Up organized by MCV Green Unity. There were neighbors, including the folks from the Union Hill Neighborhood Association, VCU hospital and academic faculty and staff, and students from both campuses at the event. Special mention to the VCU Police who came out to support us! We were able to collect 21 bags of trash, 15 bags of can/bottle recycling, plus many large items including 2 tires, a weed whacker and a chair!

We will be working with our neighbors and the city to try to get trash cans and cigarette butt disposal installed in this area, to help with long term management of the trash problem. Our next clean-up is May 28th, and we hope you can all join us again then!
