1:00pm until 5:00pm
Bring your kids, bring your friends, bring you organization or community service group for a fun day in the fresh air with a shovel in your hand and the sun on your back. We'll be planting flower bulbs and mulching the community blueberry bushes and fruit trees. If enough people turn up we can plant some more fruit trees as well, starting on the 2nd block of our community orchard! This event qualifies for service learning, community service, and VCU staff volunteer hours.
No gardening skills are necessary! We'll teach you everything you need to know, and provide gloves, tools, water and snacks. Bring a water bottle if you have one, and wear sturdy shoes (runners are great).
Stay for a few hours or the whole day! We'll meet at 871 N 22ND ST., and will be working on the gardens near 21st & O St.
